Soma for Business
A wellness perk your people will actually use
Most benefits get admired at onboarding and forgotten by February. Soma gives your team a daily practice that removes stress at the source, in an app they will open twice a day, with a real teacher behind it. Not another login. A skill they keep.
The invoice you are already paying
UK employers pay for stress whether they address it or not. Deloitte's 2024 review put the annual bill at £51 billion. It breaks down like this.
Cost of poor mental health · UK employers · per year
- Presenteeism, at work but running on empty£24bn
- Staff turnover linked to poor mental health£20bn
- Absence£7bn
964,000 UK workers reported work-related stress, depression or anxiety last year, the single biggest cause of work-related ill health. And 63% of workers now report at least one characteristic of burnout.
The same Deloitte review found the reverse is also true: every £1 spent on workforce mental health returns about £4.70 in productivity.

The perk
The Soma app, for every seat
One yearly licence per person and each of your people gets the full Soma app: taught meditation, not just piped audio. It starts with the 14-Day Reset, two minutes a day, so even the sceptics get moving. Then it builds into a real twice-daily practice.
- The 28 Day Stress Reset, a taught meditation course: a short teaching and a guided sit, every day
- Daily meditations, affirmations and breathwork tools
- Sleep sessions and the 14-Day Reset to get everyone started
- Weekly live sessions with a teacher, not just a content library
- Per-seat yearly licences, one invoice, no admin for HR
- A live launch session with Sam for the whole team

Why this perk sticks when others do not
It is taught, not installed. Every rollout starts with a live session where Sam teaches the whole team in one sitting, and weekly live sessions keep a human in the loop. An app on its own is a gym membership in January. A teacher is the difference between downloading meditation and doing it.
It fits an actual workday. No mats, no incense, no meeting-room yoga. Ten minutes sitting in a chair, morning and afternoon. The technique is effortless by design, which is why it works for exactly the busy, sceptical people who have already bounced off mindfulness apps.
It was built by someone who needed it at work. Sam spent years in a corporate job with chronic fatigue that medicine could not shift. Meditation is what fixed it. He teaches it plainly, without the mysticism, because he was the person in the meeting room who would have rolled his eyes at it.
The evidence
Boardroom numbers, not wellness numbers
Vedic meditation is the same technique studied as Transcendental Meditation, one of the most researched practices in the world. These are the findings that matter to a business, with the sources one click away.
- 1
When Aetna taught its employees to meditate, participants reported 28% less stress, 20% better sleep quality, and gained 62 minutes of productivity a week, which the company valued at about $3,000 per employee per year.
Harvard Business Review, 2015 ↗ - 2
A three-month prospective study in two workplaces found employees who learned Transcendental Meditation showed reduced anxiety, job tension, insomnia and fatigue, and improved general health and job satisfaction, compared with matched controls at the same sites.
Alexander et al., Anxiety, Stress & Coping, 1993 ↗ - 3
A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials found Transcendental Meditation significantly reduces trait anxiety, with the largest effects in people with high anxiety.

A systematic review and meta-analysis found meditation programmes produce small to moderate reductions in anxiety, depression and stress.

EnquireCommon questions
Is this delivered in person or online?
Both. The app works everywhere on every platform, and the taught courses run on site at your office or live over Zoom for distributed teams.
How quickly do teams feel the difference?
Most people feel calmer within the first sessions. In the Aetna programme, employees reported a 28% reduction in stress and 20% better sleep quality. The workplace study by Alexander and colleagues measured its results over three months.
Do you report on usage?
Aggregate numbers only: how many seats are active and how often the team practises. Never individual data. A meditation practice does not work with someone looking over your shoulder, so we built the reporting to respect that.
Is this religious?
No. Vedic meditation is a technique, not a belief system. There is nothing to believe, nothing to join and nothing to wear. You sit in a chair, twice a day, and the physiology does the rest.
How big can the group be?
App licences scale to any headcount. The Meditation at Work course runs for up to 20 people, and the full Vedic course is capped at 10 so everyone gets personal attention. Larger organisations run multiple cohorts.
Is meditation really worth the investment for a business?
Deloitte's 2024 review found that every £1 UK employers spend on workforce mental health returns about £4.70 in productivity. The cost of doing nothing is already on your books, it is just spread across sick days, turnover and quiet underperformance.
Doing nothing is the expensive option.
Tell us the size of your team and whether you want in-person sessions, and we will come back with a plan and a per-seat price, usually the same day.
Meditation is a practice, not a treatment. Nothing here is medical advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a doctor or therapist. If you are unwell, please keep seeing the people who treat you; this works quietly alongside them.
